The viaduct will be constructed as shown in the video.
As part of safety precautions taken during construction of the new reception tracks, the Temporary Protection Enclosure (TPE) frame will be installed above the existing viaduct.
The substructures and the columns will then be constructed at the respective locations.

A temporary steel deck would be constructed for construction access to the work area within Sungei Punggol.
Machineries such as cranes would use the temporary steel deck to access the work site within Sungei Punggol.
The temporary steel deck will be removed after the construction of the is viaduct completed.
The depot expansion project is just above the existing NEL Depot Roof slab. The Train services is live at all times and with the minimum of 600,000 commuters travelling daily from this depot. The proposed design will comply with the lightweight materials weight to meet the existing structure design requirement.
The new tracks will be connected to the existing Sengkang Punggol LRT track in which the LRT operations will still be on going on daily basis. The connection with the existing tracks and the testing & commissioning will be carried out towards the completion of the construction works at Layar Station and Tongkang Station.
